Thanks to
EA games I received the
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video game on Xbox 360. (It is also available on Wii, PSP, PS3, Playstation 2, Nintendo DS, PC and Mac.) I have been a big fan of all the previous Harry Potter games and this one is no exception. One of the really fun features of this game is that you have to actually move the joy stick like a wand to cast spells. It follows the outline of the movie, at least that is what I have been told. I haven't seen the movie yet, not for lack of trying we just haven't had a chance to have a movie date night without bug. So I will definitely be renting it once it comes out on DVD. Anyway, back to the
game...It is a lot of fun. I like how it follows a story line (movie) and I hate to admit it but sometimes I get stuck on parts of it so it provides a challenge. My nephews enjoy it as well, they actually fight over who's turn it is to play. That is why it is nice that it has a 2 player dueling mode. Then they can both play. It is rated E 10+ for Mild Language, Fantasy Violence, Mild Suggestive Themes. The Duels consist of casting spells against both fellow students and enemies. Cut scenes sometimes include mild provocative references such as "snogging" and "getting lucky". Words such as "hell" are occasionally used in the dialogue.
This makes a great Christmas Gift for the gamer in your life. Under the tree or in their stocking they are going to love the new Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Game this Christmas!
About the Game (from the EA Games Website): In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince the Video Game, Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Like earlier video game releases in the Harry Potter franchise, the action in Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince the Video Game revolves around the exploration of Hogwarts and the action that results from what you uncover. During their adventures, players will have a chance to engage in exciting wizard duels, mix and brew magical ingredients in potions class and take to the air to lead the Gryffindor Quidditch team to victory. Players may even get sidetracked by Ron’s romantic entanglements as they journey towards a dramatic climax and discover the identity of the Half-Blood Prince.
