“My name is Melanie Hurley, founder of Piggy Paint^™. I am a stay-at-home mom with two very fancy little girls, ages 2 and 4, who love to have their fingernails painted. Not only did the ingestion of the chemicals worry me, but the smell nearly left me light-headed after painting two sets of fingernails and toenails.

One day while we were painting nails over a foam plate, my daughter dropped a glob of her solvent-based polish onto the plate. Shortly after, the paint began to bubble and “ate” through the plate. I looked in dismay at the hole in the plate and decided to test all of her other “kid” polishes on the foam. Piggy Paint™ sent me their Dandelion Dance nail polish and a bottle of nail polish remover to review. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the bottle and there wasn’t a harsh smell. I had to actually put the bottle up to my nose to even smell it at all. That is a huge difference from other nail polishes, the strong smell of those hit you instantly, and it is not a good thing. So I painted my nails with it and the color looks really good. It only took about 1 minute to dry to the touch and I gave it another couple minutes to make sure it set up completely. (Piggy Paint recommends using a blow dryer for even quicker drying time). Then that night I took it off so that I could try out their Nail Polish remover, and it came off very easily. I love that the remover comes with a child proof lid, just in case. Other polish removers do not have childproof lids (scary!). I also like that it doesn’t have that knock you out smell. It is so great that now there is a safe polish for children. It’s a wonderful product! I will only be using safe Piggy Paint polish and remover on my girls! (when I have them one day)
