Project5 Why is Piggy Paint™ Nail Polish the safe nail polish choice for children?

"Piggy Paint™ is specially formulated from God’s natural ingredients and dries to a hard, durable finish. There are no toxic chemicals; it’s free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, biphenyl A, ethyl acetate and acetone. " –Piggy Paint Website

How Piggy Paint™ came to be:

Project6 “My name is Melanie Hurley, founder of Piggy Paint. I am a stay-at-home mom with two very fancy little girls, ages 2 and 4, who love to have their fingernails painted. I’ve always hated the thought of my kiddos putting their hands in their mouths after I painted their nails with traditional kid polishes. Not only did the ingestion of the chemicals worry me, but the smell nearly left me light-headed after painting two sets of fingernails and toenails.

One day while we were painting nails over a foam plate, my daughter dropped a glob of her solvent-based polish onto the plate. Shortly after, the paint began to bubble and “ate” through the plate. I looked in dismay Project4at the hole in the plate and decided to test all of her other “kid” polishes on the foam. Within minutes, ALL of the solvent-based polishes began to bubble and eventually left big holes in the plate, click here to see From that day on, I decided that any flammable substance that could eat through foam was unacceptable for my children’s fingernails, which would inevitably end up in their mouths.

My quest was on, and Piggy Paint was born. As you may have guessed, our polish is NOT flammable and sits beautifully on the unaffected foam. We hope you enjoy this water-based polish that is specially formulated of natural ingredients. Finally, a kid-friendly polish without the accompanying drawbacks of traditional polishes. It is free of Project3formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, biphenyl A, ethyl acetate and acetone... and made in the USA!

From my heart to yours, I hope Piggy Painttakes the worry out of painting your little one’s nails and puts the fun back into this enjoyable activity you can share with your daughter and other precious girls in your life”.-Melanie

“Put harmful, smelly polish removers behind you with Piggy Paint™ Nail Polish Remover, a remover that works quickly on all polishes, especially Piggy Paint™ Nail Polish. Our remover is safe to use and contains none of the solvents that could offend your nose or harm our atmosphere. Aloe Vera and Vitamin E are added to supplement the natural oils that protect little one’s nails and cuticles.”-Piggy Paint Website

Piggy Paint™ sent me their Dandelion Dance nail polish and a bottle of nail polish remover to review. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the bottle and there wasn’t a harsh smell. I had to actually put the bottle up to my nose Project1to even smell it at all. That is a huge difference from other nail polishes, the strong smell of those hit you instantly, and it is not a good thing. So I painted my nails with it and the color looks really good. It only took about 1 minute to dry to the touch and I gave it another couple minutes to make sure it set up completely. (Piggy Paint recommends using a blow dryer for even quicker drying time). Then that night I took it off so that I could try out their Nail Polish remover, and it came off very easily. I love that the remover comes with a child proof lid, just in case. Other polish removers do not have childproof lids (scary!). I also like that it doesn’t have that knock you out smell. It is so great that now there is a safe polish for children. It’s a wonderful product! I will only be using safe Piggy Paint polish and remover on my girls! (when I have them one day)

press_hollywoodPiggy Paint made its Hollywood debut on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Stella McDermott’s (daughter of Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott) first birthday party. Stella’s nails sparkled with Piggy Paint’s Sometimes Sweet polish at her extravagant birthday bash...
