We were so excited to be able to review the SimAnimals Africa game on Nintendo DS!  In this game you have to take care of the exotic animals in the Savannah’s and Jungles of Africa.  It begins by teaching you all the basics you need to know through a tutorial, then it is up to you to help your Kingdom to thrive.  Make sure all the animals have enough to eat and drink, and keep all the animals happy and nature thriving. Also while you play you can earn badges which makes it even more fun. Our 10 year old nephew loves playing this game and taking care of his Kingdom, it has provided hours of fun for him.  While the game is geared more towards kids ages 8-14, it can be enjoyed by all ages as well.  I give SimAnimals Africa an A+!

I was sent Hasbro Family Game Night on Nintendo DS to review.  My nephew got a Nintendo Dsi for Christmas so he was very excited to help me review this game.  It comes with 4 classic games, Battleship, Connect 4, and Bop it!  You can’t go wrong with these classic games!  Play alone or in multi-player mode, my nephews have enjoyed hours of fun with this game.  Your kids will love it too.

I was sent the Ni Hao Kai-lan New Year’s Celebration Nintendo DS game to review.  This game is very easy to play (it is made for ages 2-5), and is a lot of fun for pre-schoolers.  In my opinion it is one of the best DS games made for preschoolers.  It makes kids feel like they are actually preparing for and taking part in Kai-lan’s New Year’s Celebration!  There is a ton of variety with many activities, like helping her grandfather shop, washing dishes, playing and performing a song with a band, helping prepare meals, creating lanterns, and more.  That helps to keep your child’s attention very well.  Your kids will love this game, mine do!

• Fun game that is easy for Preschoolers to play.
• Rated EC for Early Childhood. (ages 2-5)
• Teaches your child as they play.
• Lots of fun activities and games keeps your child’s attention.

Finding games that preschoolers can actually play unassisted can be hard.  That is why I was so excited when 2K Play sent me the Dora Puppy Nintendo DS game to review.  It is really easy to play. As long as your child can trace shapes with the stylus or shout out commands they can play.  Easy enough! There is a tutorial in the beginning to teach that basics of how everything works and then Dora is always there to help your child know what to do.  She repeats things a lot which  is a big help for preschoolers, (but can be annoying to older children).  Helping Dora take care of her puppy Perrito is a ton of fun for kids.  Bug especially loves puppy playtime where you pop bubblles in the backyard and play hide and seek! And what child doesn’t like taking care of a virtual pet?!  This is a great game for any child ages 2-5, I highly recommend it!

I received this really great Preschool Video game from 2K Play. I love all of the minigames and that the voices from the TV show are the voices on the game! You can even play a song using different musical instruments including the drums, guitar, saxophone or trumpet!

The Backyardigan friends act out three different adventures -- pirates on a treasure hunt, superheroes stopping supervillains from stealing a giant key, and space garbagemen hounded by space junk collectors who want to swipe trash from them.

The colors are so bright and fun, along with the cute characters and great music!

Meet Winter the Dolphin Everyone!

“Winter is a dolphin. Just over two years ago, when she was a baby, she was rescued from a crab trap, her tail seriously damaged. Winter was rushed to Clearwater Marine Aquarium, a marine animal hospital. It wasn't clear that she would survive. She did, but eventually the tail fell off and Winter compensated by swimming more like a fish than a dolphin which was seriously damaging her spine. I received the Winter’s Tail Nintendo DS Game and was excited to open it and start playing! This is really a game for young children and can help with some basic skills such as reading! There are several Minigames that help you take care of Winter and her new tail, it even includes facts about Dolphin Training and Marine Biology. I had lots of fun Painting with Winter and Making my own book where you can tell Winter’s Tail in your own way! There is also an interactive Book that has really amazing pictures and animation and it includes a read-along feature to help those little ones learn to read! I love how innovative it is and its simple and basic so anyone can play it!

The Winter’s Tail Nintendo DS Game gets Bragging Rights!

A greedy king has stolen all the crystals that give color to the world, and now all the hues in the land are fading. It’s up to Dora and Boots to find the crystals and give color back to the world. Based on the new Nick Jr. TV special, Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom.

How would your 6 year old like to help Dora Save the Crystal Kingdom and put color back into the world? I know I would! I received this great game from 2K Play for the Nintendo Wii (available on PS2 as well) and couldn’t wait to try it out! I love Dora and all of the lessons that she teaches. Leah loves Dora and Boots too!

You can help Dora and Boots while playing, all you have to do is tilt the Wii controler to the left or right and off you go on your cool adventure!

Twist the Wii remote to help Dora turn a key for a treasure chest, or turn it around like a crank to raise a flag on a pole. These sections are similar to the TV show where Dora will ask kids to get up and move around to imitate an action on-screen. There are also some light color and shape matching sections, too.

One thing I really love about this game is all of the cool effects! As you collect the crystals, color is added to the faded world as you go past. As a parent you can also join in with a second remote and help your little one achieve their goal! This is such a great preschooler game! And the game has some learning found in the solve-the-problem games with Backpack. Kids will also help Dora identify shapes, colors, and sizes. I really like all of the different worlds it has such as butterfly cave, cloud castle and dragon land! Your child can also never loose!

If Dora gets stuck in the mud or some trees it just slows her down.
